Healthy breakfasts that you can make in a hurry.

It is probably the biggest complaint of most people when it comes to meals...they just don’t have time in the morning to eat a good breakfast. Though many doctors and nutritionists advise eating something in the morning, it is always best to try to get a breakfast that has a good balance of protein and complex carbohydrates with little fat. There are many great meals that you can make that will not only be considered a healthy breakfast, but that you can make in a hurry.

The Real Breakfast of Champions
If you want to have a breakfast that is low fat, high in protein and filled with healthy carbs, make a bowl of oatmeal. We aren’t talking about instant oatmeal that is filled with sugar, we mean real oats. Oats typically come in a “quick oats” version or “old fashioned” version. When it comes to speeding up your breakfast making, you can prepare and cook a bowl of quick oats in less than five minutes. The “old fashioned” version of oats will take less than 10 minutes. The best thing about cooking oats is that you can flavour them with your own ingredients including with fruit, cinnamon, soy milk or anything else that you may like...just try to stay away from added sugars.

Make a Sandwich...Out of Toaster Waffles
You probably know how easy it is to make a waffle in the toaster. In most cases, it only takes a few minutes to prepare a toasted waffle, but you really aren’t getting the nutrition you need to keep you full throughout the morning. However, adding a bit of peanut butter and a small handful of your favourite berries can make a plain waffles into a healthier, and very speedy, breakfast.

Who Doesn’t Love Burritos?
One great and fast breakfast that can give you the nutrition you need and keep you full until lunch is a breakfast burrito. However, you have to make sure that you are making it right! Adding egg whites and low fat cheese can give you the protein you need where veggies like peppers and onions can bring a tasty element to the burrito as well. Choosing a whole wheat tortilla instead of a flour one, can also help to give you a higher level of healthy carbs.

Yummy Breakfast in Less than Four Minutes? Yup!
A yummy and healthy mushroom egg scramble can be made in less than 4 minutes. You can even cut that time in half if you prepare the mixture the night before. One egg, a handful of cut up mushrooms and a piece of whole wheat toast can give you all of the energy you need and keep your appetite at bay until lunch.

Possibly the Fastest Breakfast Option
Yogurt is always a popular breakfast option and it can be extremely fast, especially if all you need to do is take the lid off the container! Make it a bit more filling and get more protein by adding berries or low fat granola.
