  Question

Why HydroTraining? What are the benefits?

HydroTraining allows for a high resistance, low impact environment to enhance a person's physical training.

HydroTraining takes advantage of the physical properties of water such as buoyancy, hydrostatic pressure, and viscosity to name a few.

HydroTraining allows for a high resistance, low impact environment to enhance a person's physical training. The buoyancy of the water greatly decreases the impact forces your body is subjected to in traditional land based training methods thus allowing you to be physically active with a lower risk of injury. A body immersed in water essentially counter balances the downward effects of gravity with the upward force of buoyancy.

The effects of viscosity increase the resistance up to 12% making it harder to work out in the water compared to on land. Hydrostatic pressure is the force that helps reduce swelling in an injured body part.

Located in Ottawa, LiquidGym Therapy and Training Centre is a one-of-a-kind HydroTherapy and HydroTraining facility.
