The general ability to move around comes from 7 different primal movement patterns: squat, bend, lunge, push, pull, twist and gait (walking or running). If a human being does not have the ability/mobility to move around to do every day tasks it makes things a lot more difficult. Although, ideally, a person would like to have sufficient skills in all of these areas, not being able to walk would make life very challenging! Walking is also an excellent cardiovascular exercise.
