Invisible Braces

What are cosmetic braces? Do they hurt?

Cosmetic braces offer all the benefits of conventional braces

Cosmetic braces offer all the benefits of conventional braces, but they’re invisible. Cosmetic braces straighten crooked or crowded teeth and bad bites using a clear, custom-made aligner. Aligners are clear plastic trays you take out to eat and drink, and must be worn for at least 22 hours a day.

Adults, teenagers and celebrities alike love cosmetic braces because no one knows you’re wearing them. At our dental office in Kelowna, BC,  we tend to recommend them more for people who need mild to moderate shifting. For major orthodontic work, traditional braces are more effective.

Because your teeth are shifting underneath, your mouth may be a little tender when you get a new tray (you may have to get a few over the course of your treatment).  Most wearers say it takes a few days overall to get used to wearing them and then it’s fine.
