Are You Tired Of Having Lower Back Pain?

One of the most common complaints that massage therapists see is lower back pain. Due to our increasing sedentary jobs or hobbies, longer work hours, postural and muscle imbalances and lack of exercise (among many other reasons), the lower back has become an area of frequent upset in the Healthy Body. One big thing that many people don't know, however, is the correlation of the gluteal muscles (the muscles that make up your buttocks) and low back pain.

Massage therapy works very well to:

  • assist in relaxing the muscles of the lower back
  • relieve trigger points
  • improve mobility and increasing the overall well being of the Healthy Body- which helps you return to feeling great!

Glute Massage Helps With Lower Back Pain

One big thing that many people don’t know, however, is the correlation of the gluteal muscles (the muscles that make up your buttocks) and low back pain. Although one does not cause the other, loosening the glutes can help in relieving lower back pain. The gluteal muscles action is predominantly movement of the hip and when the muscles spend a lot of time in a shortened position (prolonged standing or sitting as an example), they can sometimes develop knots or tightness.

If you are experiencing low back pain and go for a massage therapy session, do not be alarmed if the therapist wants to work out the tension in the buttocks as well. It will make your back feel better!
