Our Services:

Acupuncture

  • Acupuncture is an ancient treatment that encourages the body's healing ability by stimulating the nervous system to alleviate pain, treat medical concerns, promote wellbeing and prevent illness.
  • Acupuncture is especially effective for alleviating stress, tension, insomnia, headaches and muscular, neurological, digestive, respiratory, hormonal, menstrual and reproductive conditions.
  • From the Traditional Chinese Medical perspective, acupuncture removes blockages and promotes the smooth flow of Qi (vitality) through the body restoring health to body, mind and spirit.

Naturopathic Medicine

  • Naturopathic medicine is a distinct primary health care system that blends modern scientific knowledge with traditional and natural forms of medicine. The naturopathic philosophy is to stimulate the healing power of the body and treat the underlying cause of disease. Symptoms of disease are seen as warning signals of improper functioning of the body, and unfavourable lifestyle habits. Naturopathic Medicine emphasizes disease as a process rather than as an entity.
  • Treating both acute and chronic conditions, naturopathic treatments are chosen based on the individual patient – their physiological, structural, psychological, social, spiritual, environment and lifestyle factors. In addition to diet and lifestyle changes, natural therapies including botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, homeopathy and traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture, may be used during treatments.

Swedish Massage

  • Swedish massage is the standard massage that is taught to each and every Massage Therapist in Ontario. It can be customized with the pressure and focus varying between clients. Whether you are looking for a specific treatment for an injury or concern, or a more general relaxation treatment. It is extremely effective in treating most conditions from tension headaches, back, neck and knee pain, as well as acute or chronic injuries. It is also effective in treatment of TMJ dysfunction, and overuse injuries such as tendonitis.

Myofascial Release

  • This technique is highly effective in treating any fascial restrictions in the body which could result from previous injury, chronic postural problems, surgical scars, chronic overuse syndroms, and much more. This technique is done directly on the skin without oil and targets the fascial tissue, which in turn effects the muscular tissue. It can provide relief from conditions ranging from lower back, or neck pain, restricted range on motion in any joint, and headaches. Myofascial work can also help to improve mobility and strength when working towards reaching fitness goals, such as training for a triathalon, or marathon.

Sports Massage

  • Sports massage is an esssential part of any athletes training regime, whether you are a recreational athlete, or someone who is working towards a specific training goal such as a higher level of competition or a marathon. There are three basic parts to proper sports massage treatment: On-going or Training treatment, Pre-event treatment, and Post-event treatment. These treatments will specifically work with each athletes goals to help maximize the enjoyment of their activity while minimizing the risks of injury. Your therapist will also help educate you on the importance of stretching as it relates to your chosen activity, as well as self care that will compliment your treatments.

Prenatal Swedish Massage

  • Swedish massage can be customized to suit your needs during pregnancy. Our therapists recognize the wide variety of changes that your body goes through during this precious time, and will personalize each treatment to suit your needs as they develop during each trimester. Massage during pregnancy can help to relieve lower back discomfort, lower leg cramping, swelling in hands and feet, among other things. Whether you have a concern, or simply need some time to enjoy being pregnant, a massage is a wonderful gift during this special time.

Chiropractic

  • The word “chiropractic” comes from ancient Greek and means “done by hand.” Chiropractors are specialists in the manual adjustment of the joints and muscles of the body. Adjustments are specific movements that help to relieve pain and restore normal joint and muscle function– so you can enjoy your everyday activities again.
  • Chiropractors are also trained to provide therapeutic exercise, custom foot orthotics, nutritional counselling, and ergonomic advice, as well as recommend rehabilitation and injury prevention strategies. As one of the largest primary-contact health care professions in Canada, millions of Canadians rely on chiropractic care every year to help them get back to work and sport quickly and safely.

Nutrition Consultations

  • All nutrition consultation sessions will provide you with the following: body fat % measurement, vitamin and mineral assessment, full body measurements, ph balance testing and specific nutrition recommendations based on your body type, food allergies/intolerances and blood type . Kathy Smart specializes in weight loss through a healthy lifestyle recommendations, teen girl's nutrition, gluten free and vegetarian/vegan nutrition and menu planning.

Far Infrared Sauna

  • An infrared sauna uses infrared heaters that penetrate the skin 1.5 inches to heal and stimulate the tissue. Unlike traditional saunas that heat water over heated rocks to create steam, infrared saunas only heat the skin of the occupant and not the air surrounding the skin making it a much more efficient method of sauna.

EFT

  • EFT is an energy-balancing technique used to remove negative emotions caused by disturbances in the body's energy field. A gentle tapping action on specific energy meridian sites while thinking of a negative emotion alters the body's energy field, restoring it to its normal state.

Reiki

  • “Reiki” is a Japanese word meaning universal life energy.  The Reiki system of healing says that this energy which is the life force is present in all of creation. This life force energy is what we all need in the right quantity to ensure optimum health - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. If you are feeling the effects of stress, or feeling unbalanced in your life, this would be a wonderful treatment for you. It can be used in combination with any other massage treatment.

Bowen Technique

  • Bowen Technique is a deeply relaxing, and gentle treatment that involves hands on manipulation of the muscles and tendons. It uses a unique manipulation called the bowen 'move', and after applying the 'move' the therapist will leave the body to allow it time to respond. Bowen technique allows the body to move from sympathetic nervous mode (fight or flight) to parasympathetic mode (rest and digest). The importance of this is that our body has the ability to address all concerns when it is in parasympathetic mode, unlike when it is in sympathetic mode. This treatment will leave you feeling deeply relaxed and this effect may last for days following your treatment.
