Naturopathic Therapies:

Clinical Nutrition

  • Naturopaths assess food intolerances and dietary imbalances that have an impact on your health. Treatments often will include specialized eating plans and nutritional supplements.

Botanical Medicine

  • Naturopathic doctors are extensively trained in both the art and science of botanical medicine. Medicinal plants have been, and will continue to be a valuable part of health care.  Naturopaths have considerable knowledge regarding plant constituents and phytochemistry.

Homeopathic Medicine

  • Homeopathic remedies are made from specific dilutions of plant, animal and mineral substances. When matched to the patient they are able to affect the body's "vital force" and to stimulate the body's innate healing forces.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture

  • Traditional Chinese Medicine is a very effective system of medicine that has been practiced for thousands of years. The basic principle of TCM is to balance yin and yang and create a smooth flow of chi (vital energy) in the body. Diet, Acupuncture and herbs are commonly used in TCM.

Lifestyle Counselling

  • Mental and emotional wellbeing is an important component to health and healing. Naturopathic doctors are trained to counsel on diet, lifestyle, specific stressors, exercise and occupational or environmental hazards.

Auricular Medicine

  • Auricular Medicine is a unique form of medicine designed to help a naturopathic practitioner find root cause of disease and assist in finding appropriate remedies.

IV Therapy

The intravenous delivery of nutrients is a very safe and effective way to provide the body with therapeutic and nutritional agents. The advantage of IV therapy over taking oral doses is that the vitamins or nutrients bypass the digestive system and get delivered directly into the bloodstream and to the cells in the body.

In conditions where there is a poor absorption of nutrients orally, IV therapy can become a powerful tool. IV therapy allows for the patient to receive much higher doses than would ever be achieved orally, achieving a greater pharmacologic action. Each IV therapy is also tailored to meet the specific needs of the patient.

IV therapy is commonly used for the following (although is not limited to these conditions):

  • Acute infections (colds, flu’s, etc.)
  • Allergies
  • Asthma
  • Cancer
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia
  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn’s and Colitis) or IBS
  • Migraines
  • Neurological diseases (MS, Parkinson’s, Neuralgia, shingles, etc)
  • Recovery enhancement for athletes

IV is also used generally for balancing the immune system and increasing energy levels

Naturopathic Philosophy:

1.First Do No Harm (Primum Non Nocere) Naturopaths use methods and medicinal substances which minimize the risk of harmful side effects.

2.The Healing Power of Nature (Vis Medicatrix Naturae) We work to restore and support the inherent healing ability of your body, mind and spirit and to prevent further disease from occurring.

3.Identify and Treat the Cause (Tolle Causam) The primary goal of a naturopath is to determine and treat the underlying cause of disease rather than treat only the symptoms

4.Treat the Whole Person A naturopathic doctor takes into account not only physical symptoms, but also mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social, spiritual and other factors.

5.Doctor as Teacher (Docere) Naturopaths help you understand the factors that affect your health to enable you to become more capable of maintaining your own health.

6.Disease Prevention and Health Promotion
