I am a self-employed Occupational Therapist with a passion for working with seniors and the disabled to attain and maintain their highest possible level of independence in their daily life. My primary focus is on consent, capacity and prevention of Elder Abuse. I provide education and advocacy for clients and their caregivers to support them in setting goals for their own personal and finanancial management - whether that be through training or retraining in basic financial management skills to maximize independence or to explore the options for support services or persons to assist with or assume responsibility for decision making around personal or financial care.
As a Designated Capacity Assessor ( SDA, 1992) for the Ministry of the Attorney General I assess the following areas:

Capacity to manage personal care
Capacity to grant or revoke a power of attorney
Letter of opinion to activate a power of attorney
Testamentary Capacity (capacity to write a will)
Covering Central East Ontario including the City of Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough, Haliburton, Simcoe and Northumberland counties as well as Durham and York Region.
I am also available to complete home assessments, equipment prescriptions and Assistive Devices Program applications for clients who need home medical equipment, a walker, manual wheelchair or power wheelchair.
