Acupuncture is a treatment technique that employs the use of fine needles at specific sites on the body for the purposes of diagnosing and treating pain and disease. It is based on ancient knowledge that was collected over many centuries by the Chinese over 2000 years ago.

How does it Work?

It causes the body to release endorphins, naturally produced morphine within our bodies. It can be used to treat addictions, pain relief, and regulating body systems that are out of balance.

The Process

Very fine needles of varying lengths are inserted into specific areas of the body that are known to affect specific problem conditions and regions. The needles are left in approximately twenty minutes while the individual is sitting or lying down. Needles are not necessarily placed in the specific site of pain. The tip is designed to pierce the skin with ease and the needles are finer than hypodermic needles, causing less trauma to the skin. Generally the process is repeated five to six times in order to see if a given effect has been achieved.

Custom Orthotics

Custom orthotics are done by taking specific measurements of the individuals foot and looking at the goals of the client. Different types of orthotics are fabricated depending on the need of the client. All concerns are discussed with the therapist to design the ideal type of insert for the individual’s personal needs and the footwear they choose.

Personal Training

Personal training is used for individuals who are looking for a general or specific exercise program which is designed to achieve are particular set of goals. This training is done on a one on one basis or as a small group with the trainer. Initial assessment and evaluation are conducted Goals are then established with the therapist and the client Time lines for treatment are decided Reevaluation of the program is done over regular periods during the treatment process.

Core Stability Work

A body program designed to stabilize the central part of your body in order to have a stable base from which to perform exercises. This kind of work is done on the floor, exercise ball and BOSU Balance training programs. The program is custom designed to develop sleek and functionally strong abdominal muscles, a strong and supple back, and aligns the shoulder girdle.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is a whole-body treatment for the connective tissue of the body known as fascia. Physical trauma, infection or structural imbalances such as dental malocclusion, leg-length discrepancy and pelvic rotations or misalignments can cause a change in pull of the connective tissue of the body, thereby creating an imbalance in the pull of the tissues, muscles and bones.

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral therapy is an extremely gentle form of therapy that is used to balance the fluid distribution in the central nervous system. This fluid, known as cerebral spinal fluid is located within and around the brain and spinal chord. CranioSacral therapy is an extremely gentle form of therapy that is used to balance the fluid distribution in the central nervous system. This fluid, known as cerebral spinal fluid is located within and around the brain and spinal chord. The bones and connective tissue of the skull and spine can become tacked down, thus restricting circulation of the fluid to the necessary regions. This therapy allows a very gentle mobilization of the bones and connective tissue in order to restore proper fluid balance to the compromised locations.
