What is a good regular fitness routine?

I am feeling so sluggish, can having a regular fitness routine help build energy?

A regular fitness routine will help build energy you can use all day long! Your body didn’t evolve to be sedentary. Regular exercise strengthens the heart, lungs, muscles and skeleton. Whether you work out indoors or outdoors the act of getting up and moving with a purpose will energize you.

During and after exercise your body releases chemicals into your bloodstream that help elevate your mood naturally, leading to a better overall state of physical, mental health and emotional health as well as feeling more energetic. As an added bonus, you will sleep better at night which will lead to you feeling better and more energized the next morning!

A good regular fitness routine is one that gets your heart rate up and uses as many muscles as possible. There is no “one perfect routine”. Every person has a different body and different goals.

For a beginner it could be as simple as going for a walk while for a more athletic / fit person it may be something much more intense. See a personal trainer to help determine what type of work out (cardio, resistance training, cross fit, etc.) would best suit your individual goals.
