When it comes to weight loss, it seems as though the different options are endless. With a weight loss clinic on almost every corner, how do you choose one that’s right for you?
The truth is we’re all individuals, and no one weight loss clinic is going to be right for everyone. Depending on your weight loss goals, budget and health, one option may be better for you than another. Here are some questions to answer before choosing a weight loss clinic:
Your answers can help you determine which type of weight loss clinic you need. For example, if you are willing to spend $1,000 to $2,000 and would like to have medical consultants, perhaps a medically supervised weight loss clinic (i.e. Dr. Bernstein) is an option for you. Or if your extended benefits plan covers a registered dietitian, you can choose to get a diet plan created specifically for you.
Then, ask your family, friends, co-workers or family doctor if they can recommend a clinic that fits in with your needs. Next, try doing an Internet search on Health Local to find a weight loss clinic in your area. The clinic’s Gold Listing or website will have information (including website links) to help you determine if that clinic meets your requirements.
Once you’ve reviewed the listings in your area, choose two or three from the list and give them a call. Ask if you can make a no-obligation appointment to go in and discuss your weight loss needs. By calling first, you’ll get a sense of the environment, and can make an appointment to see if the clinic is a good match for you.
