What are the signs of hearing loss?
It’s been proven that untreated hearing loss can affect your well-being – both social and emotional. It can affect your relationships, job, and overall quality of life.
Hearing loss can often progress so slowly that you may not even notice it’s happening – to you or your loved ones – until it’s too late. This is why it’s beneficial to identify the signs before the problem gets worse. There are some common things that begin to occur when your hearing starts to go, which include:
• Thinking people are mumbling when they are speaking to you in a regular voice.
• Hearing people speaking, but not being able to understand what they’re saying.
• Having difficulty hearing conversations when there’s background noise, like at restaurants.
• Family and friends noticing and mentioning your hearing loss.
• Having to turn the TV volume louder than what others find comfortable.
Since hearing loss can happen gradually and gets worse the longer it goes untreated, you should seek professional help as soon as you start to notice these signs, whether it’s for yourself or someone else. Identifying the signs is the first step to learning about what solutions can help you.
