What are some quick and easy snacks I can make to stay on my healthy eating plan?

Stay on track with quick and easy snack ideas

I would start with a snack that combines lean proteins with either fruits and vegetables or whole grains. For example, you could choose something like:

  • 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and fruit;
  • 1/4 cup hummus with raw carrots and peppers;
  • 1 tbsp natural peanut butter on a high-fibre cracker or a piece of bread;
  • A small handful of nuts with fruit;
  • A fruit smoothie;
  • A small bowl of high-fibre cereal with milk.

The key is how much you’re eating. Try looking for snacks that are 100 to 200 calories, depending on the person. That’s a good place to start for people who are trying to lose weight.
