What is SHOCK WAVE THERAPY?
Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) sends a series of sound waves into an injured site on the Healthy Body. There is no involvement of an “electrical shock”, rather a mechanical force is used. Extracorporeal means “outside the Healthy Body,” so this is a non-surgical treatment often used for the treatment of chronic pain.

How does ESWT work?
ESWT transmits a mechanical force into the Healthy Body’s tissue, activating a new inflammatory response (the Healthy Body’s natural healing process). The new response causes an increase in blood circulation and metabolism at the injury site, jump starting the healing phase of chronic injuries and promoting pain reduction. In effect, the shock waves break up the scarring that has penetrated tendons, ligaments and other soft tissues in the Healthy Body, and reactivate the Healthy Body’s natural and pain reducing process.

We use the state of the art ZIMMER ENPULS 2.0 machine with SOFT SHOCK which is more comfortable than traditional methods, yet highly effective.
