What is Chiropractic Care?

Chiropractic is regulated health profession and Canadian chiropractors are one of the best educated practitioners in the world.

With over 6,000 practicing chiropractors, chiropractic is one of the largest primary health care professions in Canada. It is a regulated health profession and, in fact, Canadian chiropractors are amongst the best educated in the world.

Every year, over 30 million treatments are provided Canada-wide and more than 4.5 million Canadians seek the help of a chiropractor for relief from muscle, joint and spinal pain conditions.  Chiropractic is a natural, non-invasive approach to health care.

Chiropractors practice a drug-free, manual approach which includes patient assessment, diagnosis and treatment. In particular, chiropractors assess patients for disorders related to the spine, pelvis, extremity joints and their effect on the nervous system.

Chiropractors are also trained to recommend therapeutic exercises, to utilize other non-invasive therapies and to provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counselling.
