  • Cold laser therapy is one of the most effective healing therapies in the medical community today. Photons, which are particles of electromagnetic energy, are emitted from the low power laser. These particles enter the tissues and are absorbed in the mitochondria, which are tiny structures within the substance of each individual cell. The energy is converted to chemical energy within the cell. The permeability of the cell membrane changes which in turn produces various physiological effects. These physiological changes affect a variety of cell types including macrophages, fibroblasts, endothelial cells and mast cells.
  • Therapeutic ultrasound has been used in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions for years, primarily because it effectively promotes healing in the injured tissue and helps reduce pain. Its ability to penetrate deeper than other heat-based modalities facilitates a beneficial effect on deep muscle tissue. Ultrasound can treat a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, such as tendonitis, muscle spasms, bursitis, fasciitis, edema, sprains, contractures, and adhesions.
  • Electro-Muscle Stimulation (EMS) is a concept whereby electric impulses mimic signals from the Central Nervous System (the brain and spinal cord) and cause contractions of the voluntarty muscles, the muscles we can control. In medicine, EMS is used for rehabilitation purposes. It has become a mainstream method prescribed by physicians and practiced by specialists for rehabilitation after injury. In this use, a muscle atrophied during forced rest following an injury, can be helped to speed up muscle strength gain.
  • Interferential current (IFC) therapy is a treatment to aid the relief of pain and the promotion of soft-tissue healing. Tiny electrical impulses are induced into the tissues in the area of the pain. Where these waves intersect below the surface of the skin, the low-frequency stimulation induces the body to secrete endorphins, which are the body's natural pain-killers. Most patients find interferential therapy to be very beneficial and describe the treatment as being relaxing and having a 'pins and needles' sensation.
  • Dr. Corey Beninger has added a new diagnostic and rehabilitative treatment called the Graston Technique to the health care services he offers to his patients. This technique allows Dr. Corey to detect and treat areas of scar tissue or adhesions in muscles, tendons and ligaments. Scar tissue and/or adhesions form during the healing process of our bodies and are not as strong or flexible as normal, healthy tissue. A build-up of this fibrous tissue can develop, which ultimately can lead to pain and dysfunction. The specialized Graston Technique stainless steal instruments can better detect and treat these areas by breaking up the restrictions or adhesions.

  • We use the Footleveler’s system at our office. During your visit, we will take a computerized scan of your feet that instantly displays the varying levels of pressure/ strain placed on your feet when in a weight bearing position. We will explain these findings to you on this visit and make suggestions to you as to which style of orthotic is best suited to your foot, and daily demands. We will provide you with a package that consists of: pictures of your scans, explanation of your conditions and findings of the scans and a biomechanical analysis. This package is accepted and required from the majority of health care insurance companies. Check your work benefits, most company’s have coverage for orthotics. Orthotics orders generally take 7-10 to be delivered.
