Bidgood Chiropractic is a family practice owned and operated by me and my daughter Jayne. My husband John has served the community through his dental practice on this site for over 37 years.
I first experienced chiropractic while searching for relief from chronic low back and neck pain and stiffness. Chiropractic provided me with a resolution to my problems as well as ways to ensure that I would no longer make myself vulnerable to injury. Having found a way to heal without drugs made this ancient natural therapy even more appealing. The art of joint manipulation is over 3,500 years old, with every ancient culture incorporating some form of medicine which involved moving the joints for better health.
I am proud to say that I am a graduate of Palmer West Chiropractic College in San Jose, California. The first chiropractic college in the world, located in Davenport, Iowa, was founded by Dr. Daniel David Palmer, a Canadian, in 1895.

In my childhood, I was fortunate enough to have parents who believed in natural healthcare - they brought me to my first chiropractic appointment at the age of nine. I really enjoyed every visit, and always looked forward to my appointments. These experiences inspired me to fulfill a long-term dream: to become a chiropractor myself.
In my final year at St. Michaels University School, I was injured in a motor vehicle accident, which left me with chronic pain. After many different therapies, it was chiropractic care that provided me with the most pain relief as well as ways to effectively manage my pain.
I decided to attend the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth, England. It was fascinating for me to discover, through my education there, that chiropractic has so much more to offer than just pain relief. I love that it can improve so many different aspects of one's life. Although a chiropractor's main treatment method is spinal manipulation, many chiropractors today combine spinal adjustments with other therapies including stretching, hot/cold treatments, nutritional counselling, exercise recommendations, and lifestyle education.
