Traditional Chinese medicine is a complex system of medicine developed in China more than 3000 years ago. It is based on the idea that within your body there are energetic forces that are constantly working to be in balance. When there is an imbalance, the energetic forces also known as qi that run throughout the body cannot flow properly along the meridians of the organs (energy lines throughout the body associated with different organ systems). This causes disease and illness. TCM practitioners use a variety of treatment protocols such as acupuncture, acupressure, single herbs, formulas and dietary changes to help rebalance and bring harmony to the qi throughout the meridians of the body's organ systems.
Acupuncture is a form of treatment developed in China that is used to help bring the bodies energetic forces or qi back into balance. Acupuncture is the procedure of inserting and manipulating needles into various points on the body to treat imbalances and disease in the body. The practitioner decides which points to treat by observing and questioning the patient in order to make a diagnosis. Acupuncture is very useful for many acute and chronic conditions. For example acupuncture can be used for the treatment of pain, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, gastrointestinal conditions and to treat overall health.
Homeopathy is a system of medicine first proposed by a German physician Samuel Hahnemann in 1796. The word homeopathy comes from the Greek language meaning “similar suffering”. This refers to the central philosophy that a substance that can produce symptoms in a healthy person, can cure those symptoms in a sick person. Homeopathic remedies are derived from numerous plant, mineral and animal sources. Substances are given in minute doses to avoid unwanted side-effects, making them safe to use in situations where conventional drugs would be dangerous or inadvisable. For example in the case of pregnancy or with infants and children.
Botanical medicine is a traditional medicinal practice based on the use of plants and plant extracts to heal individuals. Modern Western botanical medicine uses the positive effects of herbs on individual body systems for many treatment protocols. Herbal medicines can be use for many uses such as inflammation, colds and flu, cardiovascular concerns, immune balancing or stimulating, coughs, and detoxification. The Eastern approach to botanical medicine uses a more balancing method of treatment and focuses on cooling, heating, calming or stimulating the body's organ systems.
Proper nutrition is very important and provides your body with the nutrients it needs to heal and maintain strength. Nutritional support such as dietary recommendations and supplementation is an important corner stone in Naturopathic Medicine. They are paramount to ensuring the body has all it's requirements to maintain and build health, address deficiencies, address specific health concerns and assist the body in eliminating toxins.
Lifestyle counselling is a very prominent aspect to both prevention and recovery. By addressing the link between health and lifestyle choices such as exercise, stress reduction techniques and breathing techniques, one can learn healthy habits that will help the mind, body and spirit maintain excellent health for life.
Hydrotherapy is the use of water in the treatment of disease using the bodies reaction to hot and cold stimuli. These therapies include baths, saunas, packs and wraps.
Physical medicine is a hands on approach to the treatment of many health concerns. Treatments such as massage, physical manipulation and stimulating techniques are used to help provide support to the body during the healing process.
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a painless, non-surgical method of reducing the signs of aging. Although often referred to as an Acupuncture Facelift, it is much more than a cosmetic procedure. Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a revitalization process designed to treat the whole body. To help it look and feel younger.
The Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture treatment is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It involves inserting hair-thin needles into specific areas of the face, ears, neck, hands, trunk, and legs along energy channels in the body based on an individual's needs.
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture works internally and externally to effectively change one's appearance. It treats the surface of the face along with simultaneously treating the underlying causes that contributes to the aging process. The end result is a healthier and more natural look.
Facial Rejuvenation Acupressure & Massage improves the local blood, lymph and qi circulation of the face. It also flushes out toxins, improves muscle tone and helps with the contraction of skin.
Like Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, Acupressure points on the face improve the appearance of the face as well as the health of the entire body. When used in conjunction with Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture the results of Facial Rejuvenation Acupressure & Massage are far more profound.
