As I think back to my childhood I can remember my sister and I lining up our dolls, taking out our play doctor equipment and checking their vitals as we tried to make them "feel better". I have always had a passion to help people, making them feel better and making a difference in people's lives. From a young age I knew medicine was my passion.
As I continued through my journey of education I had a strong interest in science beginning from elementary school. This carried on through highschool and then into university.
I graduated McMaster University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree completing a double major in Biology and Psychology. At this time in my life I was also working part time in a pharmacy and that is when I realized that there had to be another way, a natural way, to help people with their illnesses aside from taking an endless number of prescription drugs.
On my quest to figure out my future career I came across Naturopathic Medicine and as soon as I read through the priciples and philosophy of Naturopathic Medicine I knew it was the career for me. It focused on helping people get better with the least amount of harm, a strong emphasis on natural therapies, and education. It brings people back to nature and teaches them the ability of the body to heal itself with minimal guidance and assistance. I entered into the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2006. There I studied medicine and along side my studies I took outside courses in Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, Reiki , and doula certification. I also travelled to India in my second year at the college to study Homeopathy under world reknowned Homeopathic doctors.
In my fourth year of studies I was an intern at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic treating patients under the supervision of highly qualified Naturopathic Doctors, with one of my weekly shifts being focused on mental health issues. I have also treated patients at Anishnawbe, the first nations clinic in Toronto, on a 4 month rotation
I graduated the Canadian College of Natuorpathic Medicine in 2010 and through my four years of training natural medicine has not only become a career but a strong passion of mine.
In November 2010, I began practicing Naturopathic Medicine at Absolute Rehabilitation and Wellness, a multidisciplinary clinic in Stoney Creek, Ontario. In 2013, I embarked upon a new journey which involved beginning my own clinic, Stoney Creek Natural Wellness Center. I have an eclectic practice treating a broad range of health conditions with an emphasis on diabetes, mental health, autoimmune disorders, cardiovascular health, woman's health and gastrointestinal conditions. I also work as a Naturopathic Consultant for CanPrev Premium Natural Health Products. I love being a part of the Stoney Creek community and have been involved in several talks at Goodness Me, varying support groups, health fairs and contracted as a columnist for the local Hamilton Spectator and Inside Fitness Magazine. I am currently a member of the BDDT-N.
I am dedicated to educating, empowering and motivating my patients on their health journey.
Cosmetic acupuncture is an effective, non-surgical treatment to reduce the signs of aging and create a rejuvenated complexion. It is based on the principles of Chinese Medicine, which involves the insertion of very thin sterile, disposable needles into the acupuncture points on the face. It has been used in China with success for over 2000 years. The superficial insertion of needles into the facial acupuncture points will increase local circulation to the face and stimulate collagen production leading to filled out wrinkle lines and give firmness to the skin for a healthy, glowing complexion.
Cosmetic Acupuncture may take 5-10 years off your face. It helps to eliminate fine lines and makes the deeper lines look softer. It can also help to minimize dard circles, puffy eyes, double chin, sagging skin, and dropping eyelids.
The facial rejuvenation acupuncture package I offer includes 10 weekly one hour acupuncture sessions to increase blood flow to the face and rejuvenate the skin as well as to decrease the appearance of wrinkles, lift cheekbones, eyelids/eyebrows, and other elements of the face, decrease puffy eyes and dark circles. Results can be seen as soon as the seventh treatment. To maintain the results it is best to repeat the treatment protocol one time per month as necessary.
This is a specific type of acupuncture that involves the insertion of tiny needles into various acupuncture points on the ear in order to help stimulate certain organs associated with the habits and help regulate the nervous system to decrease cravings, stress and in the case of weight loss suppress appetite.
The Smoking Cessation and Weight loss packages both offer 8 sessions one time a week for 8 weeks in order to help patients set goals, receive acupuncture treatment, and minimize withdrawal effects and cravings.
Acupuncture is a great adjunct treatment for both weight loss and smoking cessation but don’t dismiss the importance of proper nutrition and an exercise regime to go with it. These components will also be discussed during the weekly sessions.

Naturopathic doctor visits are quite different from the conventional medical visits you are used to. Your healing journey begins with an initial visit that lasts approximately 1 hr. During this time your main health concerns, an extensive medical history, and your medical records will be reviewed and discussed. A vitals exam may be performed during this visit, along with recommendations for any further lab testing that may be required. Some treatment recommendations may be prescribed in the first visit as a starting point.
A follow up visit will be scheduled for 1-2 weeks later and will last approximately 1/2 hr. During this visit, physical exam may be performed. A detailed treatment plan will be presented to the patient. Subsequent follow up visits will all be 1/2 hr. The frequency of follow ups will be based on individual cases and treatment protocols.
Things to bring to your first visit:
- all bottles of supplements or medications you are currently taking
- a copy of your most recent blood work
- any other health records and imaging that may be relevant
**I carry a small natural supplement dispensary in the clinic for patient convenience. Patient's may choose to buy products from the dispensary or any other pharmacy, grocery store, or natural health food store.
