Is psoriasis curable?

If you’re plagued by psoriasis, you might not realize it can be controlled

Psoriasis is not curable but it is controllable. Psoriasis is an inflammatory disorder of the skin and the most common type is characterized by scaly, flaky, thick scales on the limbs, chest and scalp. It is not contagious and there is a genetic component to its cause. There has been increasing research and development into medications that can help psoriasis and increase the time between outbreaks. Psoriasis treatments include topical medications, light therapy and systemic (oral treatments). The best step is to have a consultation with a dermatologist to obtain a proper diagnosis regarding the type of psoriasis and to review all treatment options.
