6 Tips For Staying Healthy While At Home

I want to share with you a few suggestions to help you stay healthy, all of which I practice myself.

1. If you are physically able to, get outside to walk, bike or jog many times per week. The minimum you should aim for is 150 minutes per week of aerobic exercise. Start slow if you are out of shape but try to elevate your heart rate for 30 minutes or more several times per week to strengthen your heart and lungs and boost your immune system.

If possible, try to do your exercise when the sun is shining for an added serotonin boost.

2. Reduce your consumption of refined sugar and alcohol, both of which have no nutritional value and are harmful. Try to eat 5 to 9 servings of fruit and vegetables each day and take a vitamin C, D and zinc supplement. We like ImmuCore from Metagenics and Immuno-Detox from Adeeva, both of which can be purchased online and generally at the office.

3. Stay off your cellphone or computer later in the evening. Use of these devices late in the day will cause your pineal gland to produce less melatonin, the sleep hormone and will reduce the amount of REM sleep. REM sleep is the most restorative for your health. Should you wish more info on the adverse health effects of EMF exposure from cellphones, wifi, etc., send me an email, and I will refer to books on the subject with multiple references.

4. If the news causes you anxiety due to its continual negative content, reduce your consumption of it on TV and other forms of media.

Watch programs that make you feel good or change your thoughts. It would be better for your brain to read a good book as well.

Remember that you are in charge of what you put into your subconscious!

5. Go to bed and get up at the same time every day even if you are not working. Our health benefits from routine, and you should aim for about 8 hours each night.

6. If you are having severe problems affecting your mobility or ability to do your work, we are still available to help you on reduced hours with well-spaced appointments.

Call the office and leave a message and phone number. We will get back to you. Optionally, send us an email to either [email protected] or [email protected]

Keep healthy and stay safe.
