Our Services

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care increases range of motion, coordination and balance. Chiropractic promotes a proactive strategy to reduce injuries and allow the body to function at peak performance. Doctors of chiropractic teach patients that chiropractic care has a positive effect on the nervous system.

What type of ailments does Chiropractic treat?

Chiropractic is proven effective in the treatment of many common ailments including, but not limited to...

*Headaches *Migraines *Back pain *Neck pain *Whiplash *Herniated Disc *Frozen Shoulder *Strains / Sprains *Muscle Spasms *Sciatica

*Carpal Tunnel Syndrome *TMJ *Degenerative Disc Disease *Dizziness *Foot pain *Heel Spurs *Musculoskeletal Pain *Arthritis

What can I expect on my first visit?

The chiropractor will ask you about the health complaints for which you are chiefly concerned. The Doctor will also pose questions about your health history, family health history, dietary habits, other care you may have had (Chiropractic, Dental, Medical, Naturopathic, Osteopathic, etc.), your job, and other questions designed to help determine the nature and extent of your condition and the best way to go about treating your complaints/concerns.

A physical examination with specific orthopedic testing will be performed in accordance with your Doctor's clinical judgement. In addition, a careful spinal examination and analysis will be performed to detect any abnormalities which may be affecting or causing your condition. All of these elements are important components of your total health profile, and vital to the Doctor of Chiropractic in evaluating your treatment requirements.

What can I expect after treatment?

Patients sometimes experience significant improvement within 24 hours after their first treatment. In a few cases, there may be no immediate relief. In most cases, patients notice their condition gradually improving over a course of treatment or treatment plan.

If you have any questions with any part of your treatment, please talk to your chiropractor. As with any form of therapy, if you experience an unusual or unexpected reaction or worsening of symptoms, contact your chiropractor immediately.

Is Chiropractic care safe for pregnant women?

Chiropractors can provide guidance, resources, symptom relief and health optimizing care in this exciting and confusing time when you want to be your best. It is vitally important to have a healthy body and mind to handle the changes and decisions that need to be made while carrying, birthing and raising your child. A pregnant body needs a flexible and balanced spine, hips and pelvis. It needs internal organs without postural stress or nerve stress. Chiropractic care helps ensure that all body systems, especially the reproductive system, function properly.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is a regulated health profession in Ontario and as such, all of our massage treatments at the Paisley Spa are performed by Registered Massage Therapists (RMT).  Massage Therapy is the assessment and treatment of the soft tissues (muscles, ligaments, fasciae) and joints of the body. Massage Therapy improves health by promoting circulation, normal movement and alignment of the body.  Massage Therapy has been shown to decrease pain, improve movement of joints and soft tissues of the body, enhance circulation of blood and lymph, promote a sense of relaxation and well being, and improve quality of sleep.

It is important to check with the doctor before beginning a course of massage therapy, especially if you are seeking treatment for a specific ailment.  It may be required to have a doctor’s note in order to be covered by an Extended Health Care Insurance.  Massage therapy is covered by most insurance companies, motor vehicle accident insurers, WSIB and Veterans Association.

RELAXATION MASSAGE  This message is for the purpose of rest and relaxation, improve circulation, the range of motion, and relieve minor muscle pain.

MEDICAL MASSAGE   Medical massage and joint mobilization focus on maintaining limber joints and good muscle tone. This massage tends to be a little deeper than relaxation massage and the body is usually moved around in different degrees of motion in order to increase the range of motion.

REHABILITATIVE MASSAGE  This massage focuses on healing injury.  This is a very deep massage which can leave the client with a bruised feeling for 24-48 hours after the massage.  If the client is on blood thinners, some bruising may occur.  After the initial 2 days, the client will feel more range of motion and a release in pain.  An increase in water to flush the toxins and a hot Epsom salt bath for a couple of days post massage will ease with any discomfort following a rehabilitative massage.
