Our Services

Chiropractic Adjustment

A chiropractic adjustment is a non-invasive procedure that is intended to restore motion to a restricted joint. When joints are restricted and/or painful, muscles can as well become tight and sore. It can also result in compensation by other muscles and joints surrounding the issue and create further problems. An adjustment works to decrease pain, muscle tightness, and restore range of motion.
Chiropractic is safe, non-invasive, drugless, and effective manual therapy for correcting the underlying cause of many health concerns:

  •  Athletic Performance Enhancement
  • Headaches and Migraines
  • Arm and Leg Pain/Numbness/Tingling
  • Stress and Fatigue
  • Sports, Auto, Work Injuries
  • Joint and Muscle Conditions
  • Pre-natal and Pediatric Care
  • Digestive/Bowel Disorders
  • High Blood Pressure
  • PMS Symptoms/Women’s Health
  • Low Back Pain

Lower Back Pain Treatment

Did you know that lower back pain is the second most common discomfort in humans…… two-thirds of adults are affected by lower back pain at some point in their lives?

The sight of lower back pain is most common in people aged 30-50 years and the most common causes are muscle or ligament-related injuries.

Shoulder Pain and Treatment

Shoulder pain is the third most common musculoskeletal disorder after low back pain (LBP) and neck pain. Estimates of shoulder disorders vary from 7-25% in North American general population. In the average aged 70 years or more, 21% of them were found to have shoulder symptoms, most of which were caused by the rotator cuff.

Headache and Migraine Treatments and Types

Are you suffering from headaches or migraines? If so, our Chiropractors can provide effective relief and get you back to normal.

Tension Headaches

Tension headaches are the most common type of headache syndrome. Characterized by pain that is usually mild or moderate and described as a band-like pain or deep steady ache squeezing around the head most intense at the front and sides. Pain on only one side may be experienced by 10-20% of patients.

• 82% last less than 24 hours
• Occasionally, the headache may be throbbing
• Some Patients may have shoulder, neck and jaw pain or discomfort
Causes
• One half of patients identify stress or hunger as a precipitating factor
• Stress – Usually occurs in the afternoon after long stressful work hours
• Uncomfortable stressful position and/or bad posture
• Sleep deprivation
• Irregular meal time (hunger)
• Eyestrain

Migraine Headaches

An estimated 10-20% of the population suffers from migraine headaches. Migraine is the second most common type of headache syndrome in the United States. More than 80% of patients who develop migraines will have a first attack by age 30. Migraines continue through the patient’s 30s and 40s. They may begin or occur at any age but are rare after age 50. With increased age, attacks usually decrease in severity and frequency. Age older than 55 years is a strong predictor for intracranial pathology.

Symptoms

Moderate to severe intensity headache with or without preceding symptoms of:
• Visual disturbance such as a pulsing blurry patch known as a scintillating scotoma
• One-sided body weakness or altered sensation
• Hallucinations
• Nausea/ vomiting
• Light and/or noise sensitivity
• Lightheadedness

The migraine headache itself is usually:

• One-sided but can be on both sides of the head
• Throbbing or pulsing
• Lasts 4-72 hours

Causes

• Exact cause is unknown
• Family history of migraine headaches
• Medications (birth control pills, vasodilators)
• Fatigue or emotional stress
• Specific foods (cheese, chocolate) or alcohol (red wine)
• Exertion

Deep Laser Therapy

Deep laser therapy is a form of chiropractic laser treatment that utilizes low-level laser that emits light-emitting diodes on the skin surface. The low-power lasers stimulate muscles cells that helps with alleviating pain and it improves the cell function of the body.

Scoliosis

Scoliosis is an abnormal sideways curvature of the spine. It begins as a postural distortion and may become a permanent deformity. Allowed to advance, it may interfere with the lungs, heart and many other vital organs.

Three Causes:
1. Congenital  genetic predisposition
2. Habitual  behavioural routines
3. Idiopathic  unknown cause

Regardless of cause, early detection can be helpful.

Myofascial Pain Syndromes

Myofascial pain syndromes refer to pain and discomfort arising from the muscles and surrounding connective tissues. Muscles when strained or fatigued can become shortened and develop hyper-irritable spots called trigger points. These trigger points can cause local pain as well as refer pain to distant locations around the area

Many muscles in the neck and upper back refer pain to the shoulder region such as:

• Upper and Middle Trapezii
• Middle Semispinalis Capitis
• Levator Scapulae
• Scalenes
• Supraspinatus
• Infraspinatus
• Teres Minor
• Teres Major
• Subscapularis
• Deltoid
• Biceps
• Pec Minor
